Family activities planned at Old State Capitol, Lincoln-Herndon Law Offices during December 5, 12 and 19 Holiday Walks

SPRINGFIELD - Family activities and special music have been planned at the Old State Capitol and Lincoln-Herndon Law Offices State Historic Sites during the Downtown Springfield Inc. Old Capitol Holiday Walks on December 5, 12 and 19. Both sites will be open from 6 to 8 p.m. those evenings.

The Lincoln-Herndon Law Offices will host the fun and family-friendly DePriest Puppets Show at 6:30 p.m. each Wednesday evening. The Old State Capitol will feature a family "history hunt" each night, as well as a 6:30 p.m. seasonal music concert: The Eddy Flute Choir on December 5, the Springfield Chorale Society on December 12, and the Springfield Show Stoppers on December 19. All of the activities are free and open to the public.

The Downtown Springfield Inc. Old Capitol Holiday Walks are sponsored by Bank of Springfield and St. John's Children's Hospital. Holiday Walks are scheduled November 28-29 and December 5, 12 and 19 and feature extended shop and restaurant hours, holiday promotions, horse-drawn trolley rides, music and refreshments.
