IDPH to Host Springfield Job Fair on April 23
Event at Illinois State Fairgrounds gives jobseekers the chance to pursue careers in public health
SPRINGFIELD - The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) will hold a job fair in Springfield on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, from 11am to 3pm. The event will give prospective jobseekers the opportunity to apply for, and ask questions about, jobs and careers in the field of public health.
"There are no wrong doors into public health," said IDPH Director Dr. Sameer Vohra. "There are careers in public health for virtually anyone - from medical professionals to communications experts to people who are great with numbers or computers and many more. We need all types of skills to help improve the health of Illinois residents. As we celebrate 30 Days of Public Health throughout April, please join us at Springfield Job Fair. We look forward to meeting the public health heroes of today and tomorrow."
The job fair will be held at the Orr Building on the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield; attendees can enter the Fairgrounds through Gate 9. Advance registration is not required, but attendees wishing to do so can do through the form available at this link.
In addition to information on available positions at IDPH, attendees will also be able to speak with career counselors from the Illinois Department of Central Management Services, who can assist jobseekers with creating an online profile and other aspects of the state hiring process. You can also learn more about available positions at Careers at State of Illinois.
The job fair takes place during IDPH's "30 Days of Public Health" celebration, a monthlong observance of public health activities and the people responsible for them. You can learn more through the IDPH social media channels or at the Illinois Department of Public Health website.
