Springfield State Offices Impacted by Power Outage

Springfield, IL - Springfield City Water, Light and Power crews are responding to a power outage currently affecting customers in sections of downtown Springfield. Among them, the following State facilities are impacted:

  • Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity: Ridgely Building, 500 E. Monroe. Facility is closed for business today.
  • Illinois Commerce Commission - Leland Building, 527 E. Capitol Avenue. Power restored; normal business operations continue.
  • Community College Board, 401 E. Capitol Avenue. Power restored; normal business operations continue.
  • State Treasurer's Office, Unclaimed Property, Myers Building, 1 W. Old State Capitol Plaza. Status pending. Contact: 800-961-8303 https://illinoistreasurer.gov/
  • Department of Children and Family Services, 4 Old State Capitol Plaza. Alternative sites are being determined to provide services. Contact: 217-524-2029 https://www2.illinois.gov/dcfs/Pages/default.aspx

Central Management Services continues to monitor the situation and will provide updates as circumstances evolve. It is anticipated that while some offices impacted may see power restored soon, others may not see service return until mid-afternoon today. Customers are advised to contact the affected departments' offices to learn if alternate sites are identified to provide services.
