MACHESNEY PARK - Governor Pat Quinn today announced an investment of $5.8 million for a road construction project near Machesney Park. Funded by his Illinois Jobs Now! construction program, the project is part of Governor Quinn's commitment to creating jobs and driving Illinois' economy forward.
"This project will reconstruct this well-used intersection in Winnebago County," Governor Quinn said. "The project will also employ a number of construction workers, which will drive local economies forward."
The intersection of Illinois Route 2 and Roscoe Road northwest of Machesney Park will be reconstructed for $5,856,596 by Rock Road Companies, Inc. of Janesville, Wisconsin, the lower of two bidders. The project will be managed by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
The project is part of Governor Quinn's $31 billion Illinois Jobs Now! program, which will support more than 439,000 jobs over six years. Illinois Jobs Now! is the largest construction program in Illinois history, and is one of the largest construction programs in the nation.
