Liquor Control Commission March Underage Compliance Report
SPRINGFIELD – In March the Illinois Liquor Control Commission (ILCC) conducted compliance checks around the state and visited 378 businesses licensed to sell liquor. They cited 41 licensees for violations of liquor control laws. Eight-nine percent of the licensees visited complied with Illinois liquor laws and refused to serve underage customers.
This report is a result of ongoing undercover and cooperative law enforcement operations conducted by Illinois Liquor Control Commission (ILCC) agents and local law enforcement officials and volunteers from high schools and colleges. The teams randomly visit liquor stores, restaurants and bars in communities around the state to check for ongoing compliance with state laws mandating that no liquor is sold to minors under the age of 21. ILCC agents also work with local and state law enforcement agents to focus on communities with a high incidence of underage liquor sales.
Addison – March 6, the ILCC and the Addison Police Department conducted Underage Liquor Compliance checks (DuPage County). Of the 16 establishments checked, one sold alcohol to the underage participants. The licensee that sold was:
•Rainbow Liquors, 435 S. Addison Rd, Addison
Aurora and North Aurora – March 27, the ILCC and the Secretary of State Police conducted alcohol underage checks in North Aurora and Aurora. Of the six licensees checked, four sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were:
• Eddie’s Pizza & Pub, 45 S Randall, North Aurora
• Sunny’s Market, 5 S. Lincoln Way, North Aurora
• Sushi Pirate, 1139 Oak St., North Aurora
• Oak Street Restaurant, 945 Oak, North Aurora
Burbank – March 20, the ILCC and the Burbank Police conducted underage alcohol checks in Burbank, Cook County. Of the 11 licensees checked, three sold alcohol to LCC underage participants. Those licensees were:
• 79th & Oak Park Market, 6759 W. 79th St., Burbank
• Durbin’s Restaurant & Lounge, 5406 W. 79th St, Burbank
• The Old School Bar, 8504 S. Cicero, Burbank
Calumet City – March 10, the ILCC and Calumet City Police conducted underage alcohol checks in Calumet City, IL. Of the 10 licensee’s checked three sold alcohol to LCC underage participants. Those licensees were:
• Miska’s Liquor & Food Mart, Calumet City
• Harryo’s 816 Burnham Avenue Calumet City
• Mariscos 742 Burnham Avenue Calumet City
Champaign County – Unofficial St Patrick Day 2014 celebration event, the event was held on March 6th and 7th, 2014 at the University of Illinois Champaign/Urbana Campus.
March 6th ILCC agents along with agents from the Illinois Department of Revenue Bureau of Investigation, Illinois State Police District 10, Champaign Police Department and Urbana Police Department conducted alcohol underage compliance checks in Champaign County and bar checks in the Champaign / Urbana area. The ILCC utilized 6 18 & 19 year old underage participants for the night’s activities.
Team 1 conducted 21 compliance checks in Broadlands, Philo, Sidney, St Joseph, Tolono and Savoy. Team 1 issued two violation notices licensees for selling alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were:
• Home Town Pantry, 4 E. Holden, Suite 4, Tolono
• Traxside Pub &Sports Lounge, 4 E. Holden, Tolono
Team 2 conducted 23 alcohol compliance checks and issued no violations to Urbana Licensees.
Team 3 conducted 25 alcohol compliance checks and issued no violations to Champaign Licensees.
Friday March 7th.
The ILCC utilized 4 18 & 19 year old underage participants for this day’s activity and conducted 47 alcohol underage compliance checks. Only one licensee sold liquor to a minor. That licensee was:
• Piccadilly Beverage Shop, 2202 West John, Champaign
Clinton County – March 14, 2014 the ILCC and the Illinois State Police District # 11 conducted alcohol underage compliance checks in Clinton County. Of the 10 licensees checked, four sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were:
• New Memphis Station, 24443 Whittenburg Rd., New Baden
• Sit N Bull, 31 S. Mill, New Baden
• Bob’s Little Acre, 21311 N. Emerald Rd., Carlyle
• Dock’s, 21000 N. Emerald Rd., Carlyle
Clinton County – March 21, the ILCC and the Illinois State Police District # 11 conducted underage alcohol compliance checks in Clinton County. Of the three licensees checked none sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants.
Elgin – March 6, the ILCC and the Elgin Police Department conducted alcohol underage compliance checks in the City of Elgin. Of the 30 licensees checked, five licensees sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were:

• Eaton’s Redwood, 118 W. Chicago
• Casa Lara, 7 Clock Tower
• Villa Liquors, 695 Villa
• Elgin Shell, 2329 N. Randall
Jo Daviess County – March 27, an underage compliance detail was conducted in the Villages of Warren and Stockton in conjunction with the Secretary of State Police. Of the 14 licensees checked there were, two sold alcohol to minors. They were:
• Good Times, 148 E. Main St., Warren
• Red’s Liquor, 811 Tisdel, Unit 1, Warren
Kane, McHenry Counties – March 21, the ILCC along with the Secretary of State Police conducted underage alcohol checks in Huntley-Marengo. Of the 16 licensees checked, none sold alcohol to LCC underage participants.
Madison County – On March 12 the ILCC and the Illinois State Police District # 11 conducted alcohol underage compliance checks in Madison County. Of the 11 licensees checked none sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants.
Massac and Union Counties – March 13, the ILCC and the Illinois State Police District # 22 conducted underage alcohol compliance checks in Massac & Union Counties. Of the 24 licensees checked, one sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. That licensee was:
• Pizza Hut, 2047 E. 5th Street, Metropolis
McLean County – March 19, the ILCC and the Secretary of State Police conducted alcohol underage compliance checks in McLean County. Of the 23 licensees checked, two sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were:
• Pit Row Sports Bar & Grill, 206 S. Vine, Heyworth
• Shady Nook Pub, 310 S. Center, Saybrook
McDonough County – March 27, 2014 the ILCC and the Illinois State Police District # 14 conducted underage alcohol compliance checks in McDonough County. Of the 12 licensees checked, one sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. That licensee was:
• Lafayette 66, 340 N. Lafayette, Macomb
Richland and Lawrence Counties – March 13, the ILCC and the Illinois State Police District # 12 conducted alcohol compliance checks in Richland & Lawrence Counties. Of the 13 licensees checked, five sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licenses were:

Sangamon County – March 28, 2014 the ILCC, the Illinois State Police District # 9 and the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Department conducted alcohol underage compliance checks in Sangamon County. Of the 26 licensees checked, three sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were:
• Obed & Isaac Microbrewery & Eatery, 500 S. 6, Springfield
• The Barrel Head, 1577 Wabash Ave., Springfield
• Club Station House Video Dance Bar, 304-306 E. Washington, Springfield
Schaumburg –March 27, the ILCC and the Secretary of State Police District 1 conducted underage alcohol checks in Schaumburg within Cook County. Of the 15 licensees checked, one sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. That licensee was:
• Pik N Go, 751 W. Golf
St. Clair County – March 11, 2014 the ILCC and the Illinois State Police District # 11 conducted underage alcohol compliance checks in St Clair County. Of the 19 checks made, two sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were:
• Tampico Mexican Restaurant, 500 S. Main, Smithton
• Koke’s Tavern, 4419 Cookson Rd., Fairmont City
Tinley Park – March 11, the ILCC along with Secretary of State Police conducted underage alcohol checks in Tinley Park (Cook County). Fifteen licensees were checked, and two sold alcohol to LCC underage participants. Those licensees were:
