Organizations in Adams, Cook, Knox, Macon, Moultrie, Will, and Winnebago Counties Approved for Illinois Arts Jobs Preservation Grants
CHICAGO – October 30, 2009. Governor Pat Quinn and the Illinois Arts Council today announced $358,600 in awards approved to restore and retain jobs at 19 nonprofit arts organizations statewide through the Illinois Arts Jobs Preservation grant program.

Additional $242 Million Available to Increase Weatherization Services, Create Jobs
CHICAGO - October 30, 2009. On National Weatherization Day, representatives from Governor Pat Quinn’s Administration joined officials with the U.S. Department of Energy, the Community and Economic Development Association of Cook County (CEDA) and Serious Materials at a multi-family unit on Chicago’s West Side to highlight services being provided through the Illinois Home Weatherization Assistance Program (IHWAP). Illinois has received approximately $242 million in additional funding through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) to assist with low-income home weatherization efforts over the next two years.

Towns & Sanitary Districts Selected to Receive Drinking Water/Waste Water Funds
October 29, 2009. Governor Pat Quinn and Illinois Environmental Protection Agency Director Doug Scott announced grants and loans for environmental projects to improve drinking water quality in Illinois, using funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). The Recovery program was authorized earlier this year by the United States Congress and President Barack Obama.
